As it is, things are not that bad. Today is a great day. I paid my road tax and it is only RM92! Comparatively when I was using a 2500 cc diesel, it was RM840. That is a big gap.
Now I am really living the life of Voluntary Simplicity. I am scaling down the more or more expensive to less and less frequent. If I follow this formula 30 years ago, I am a millionaire many times over by now.
Well I am still learning. Now I know that money is a limited resources. Screw the potential I can earn. What counts is what I can do with what I have. When the chips are low nobody will help me except Lizzie.
So fuck the rest of the people. When you are down and out even your parents and siblings shy away from you. Money is very personal. When you have a lot, you feel larger than life. When you have nothing, you are really at the bottom of the pit. So it is up to you really. You must treat money as a diminishing resource.
Also be mindful that when there is none, no matter how hard you try, you cannot find it.
My success formula is dependent on a very important factor. That is Lizzie has pension. Life will be different if we don't have a stable source of income to rely on for as long as we live. That is the beauty of government pension. For the rest of your life you will be taken care of.
I had been living on Lizzie's welfare since 2009. Which means for the past 10 years I had been a free rider. So for this next 10 years I should build my reserve so that when I am in my golden age, I can enjoy a blissful life.
This is a long run, not a sprint.
Previously my goals had always been short term. Maximum 5 years. Nowadays, 5 years is a short term goal for me. My long term goal is now 20 years.
This COVID-19 will last for a long time. It was mentioned by WHO that it might not go away. If that is the case, looks like I have to look at a long term strategy from now. Like for example I should not spend money unnecessarily. No spending on clothes and perfumes. Eat apple for lunch.
I should also look at saving money on the small stuff like going to the movies and wash my own car.
I might consider taking the bus where it is permissible.
