6/6/20 ***Let's do the best for the podcast

Whatever I do, I normally do my very best.  Same with this podcast.  This is my job to be the best.

I want to look good in YouTube.

It's better be worth it.  I am taking too much time thinking about this podcast.  I don't know whether it is worthwhile or not.

This is a new territory for me.  I don't know what to expect.

I am meeting Pal today for a discussion on the framework of the podcast.

I am taking the consultative approach rather that prescriptive approach throughout the discussion.

I come in as a divergent thinker instead of the also ran propagator.  I want to be different.

Let's write something to Els:

Hey honey,

Have you heard of the Dunning-Kruger effect?  It's about somebody who overestimates his ability.  I know a person like that.  What a funny character.

Nevertheless he managed to latch himself to another person for 18 years and really leech on his partner.

They finally split.  This guy used to be my partner.  Luckily it only lasted for 3 years.  Imagine with this partner he was taking a free ride for 18 years!  That is worth a few millions of shared revenue due to a 50-50 split.  In reality this person just sit around and shaked his legs while the partner runs the show.

50-50 deal was really a bad idea.  There must be a controlling factor even if it is a 51-49 split.  

Now that I looked at it, my position was not really bad.  This guy refused to pay his portion of the corporate tax.  With this partner he just got away with half of the revenue.  What a nightmare!

The lesson here darling, NEVER go with a 50-50 split if you ever want to go on a business deal.  I was young and naive then.  So was this partner of his.  Remember, unless the person commits resources, avoid bringing in a sleeping partner.  Just pay him or her on delivery basis.

Better still honey. only engage on per assignment basis.  Worst is to have a Sdn.  Bhd.  If you are a one person operation, just make do with an enterprise. It is not subject to audit.

Just a thought on Saturday afternoon...  I told you that you inspired me to write.  Baby, this may sound like an irrelevant piece of information but trust me, this is the most vital lesson I have on partnership.
